I found that reading about your experiments gave me inspiration and also a sense of permission to go out and have a go at it! Sorry I didn't get around to joining in, I had planned to write something on cramp bark but ended up having a manic week.
And as I harvest the bark later it did seem the wrong time to write about it. So I was very interested to hear you say there wasn't much difference between the early harvested bark and the later, I have never tried comparing before.
Take good care and enjoy all those wonderful seeds. :)
xxxWhispering Earthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11268144918126029850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3765060233389739578.post-52162040800746800772012-02-26T07:57:55.035-08:002012-02-26T07:57:55.035-08:00Wonderful and interesting post Sarah, thanks for s...Wonderful and interesting post Sarah, thanks for sharing.
Hugs XXX
RitaRita Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05523858069296030216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3765060233389739578.post-65068724972159889332012-02-21T17:10:00.018-08:002012-02-21T17:10:00.018-08:00Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, Sa...Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, Sarah. I love the idea of using the cherry bark tincture and cherry blossom elixer together:) Glad you figured out a combination that worked for Chris. I have never worked with cherry blossom... I need to put that on my list for this year. I pay close attention to our wild cherry bloom as the bees adore it and it is the best honey around here, if I can manage to harvest before they mix others in:)
I have searched and searched for a wild crampbark, we supposedly have them around here.. I have it on my list for new plantings here at home. I love its action. Thank you for sharing about when to harvest it.
I use Oregon Grape extensively with my work with cats. (I volunteer at our humane society). Very good for when they have urinary infections. Another great plant.
When you shared long ago about Henriette suggesting to try the different parts of a plant, besides the part we usually hear about. It is how I learned that valerian flower tincture is more suited for me, that valerian root:)
Wonderful post, Sarah, thank you for sharing xxxComfrey Cottageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01135637912946395843noreply@blogger.com
